Qualifying entrants

All entries must be made using the official entry form available here. The completed form must be emailed to competition@ohzoe.com and received by 23:59 GMT on the 31st of March, 2017. Entries received after this date will not be considered.

Entrance by post is not acceptable, and manuscripts sent by post will not be eligible for the competition, nor shall they be returned.

All entries must be original, unpublished works, written in English, with all rights held in full by the author / entrant. Self published entries are acceptable.

By submitting your entry you agree and warrant that:
  • your entry is your own original work.
  • nothing in your entry is defamatory, private or an infringement of copyright or other intellectual property.
  • you hold all rights and privileges of the copyright holder

The competition is open to anyone aged 16 or over in any country. If the winner is under 18 years of age they will be asked to have their guardian complete waivers and consent forms as a prerequisite of the prize being awarded.

Entrants may submit an unlimited number of entries, but should those entries be found to duplicate, or closely duplicate, other entries from the same author then all entries from the applicant will be disqualified at the discretion of the judges.

The copyright of all works submitted remains with the author.

Prizes and Awards

The decisions of the judges are final and the judges reserve the right to withhold awards if no entry reaches an appropriate standard. Should multiple entrants be awarded first prize the monetary prize will be shared equally between them. All other prizes will be honoured in full.

The prizes can not be exchanged for a cash equivalent or an alternative in any circumstances, nor can they be transferred to another person.

All training will be carried out remotely but may be available in person at the providers discretion. Should you agree to attend these sessions in person then you will be responsible for covering all travel expenses, meals and other incidental expenses.

We reserve the right to alter the prizes at our discretion.

The winning entry

The winners name will be published on the Oh Zoe! Website, other websites and social media accounts.

The winner may see selected extracts (not exceeding 50% of the total word count) from their entry posted on the Oh Zoe! Website and on other websites and social media accounts.

We will attempt to contact the prize winner in April, 2017. Should the initial winner fail to respond within a week of the award being granted then the initial winner will forfeit the prize and a secondary winner will be appointed. Oh Zoe! is not responsible for contacting entrants who provide unclear or incomplete information on the application form.

The winning entrant may be asked to supply copies of their passport, driving licence and/or utility bill before any payment it made.

The email addresses of entrants will not be shared with any other company, but will be used by Oh Zoe! to send you our newsletter and otherwise contact you regarding business opportunities. You will be given the option of opting out of these emails should you wish to stop receiving any further communication.

By entering the competition you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
